What began in 1954 in the Swabian town of Walheim has grown into an international success story built on craftsmanship, comfort and iconic design.
Sioux was founded by Peter Sapper with the vision of bringing the moccasin to Germany—and over the decades, the brand shaped the market with innovations such as the Autoped driving shoe (1957), the intarsia design with rubber-studded sole (1958), and above all the legendary Grashopper (1964). With its distinctive moccasin character, comfort and casual style, the Grashopper became a defining Sioux icon.
Over the years, the original Sioux Grashopper has also quietly served as a source of inspiration far beyond the brand itself, with its unmistakable silhouette echoed in successful interpretations by other footwear labels.
